Early History

Located in Ferndale, Washington, Microtech Electronics Inc started business 1979 in Silverdale, Washington with secret clearance required for the responsibility of securing the US Navy Submarine Station at Bangor, Washington. With certified membership in the American Association for Industrial Security, Brad Johnson, President of Microtech, was instrumental in bringing the ground-breaking technology of electronic access control to major commercial, industrial, and military facilities throughout the Northwest and Alaska.

Late Eighties

Brad took a few years off to sail around the world before re-entering the business field. Brad and his wife, Marie Johnson, reactivated Microtech Electronics in 1988, focusing on research and development projects.

Nineties

From 1994-2002, Brad Johnson joined Balmar as Director of Product Design and Sales, and Marie joined the team as OEM Sales/Office Manager. During this time Brad was instrumental in development of the Max Charge regulator series. His Aqua Pac Voyager design remains the standard of highest quality mobile watermakers and his PC-750 DC generator is the hallmark of the high output alternator/inverter/high capacity battery bank system.

During Brad's time at Balmar he designed several custom power systems, including a generator for submersible vessel, power plant for ocean buoys, and system power generation for a 12 month research vessel in the Artic.

Y2K Decade - Present

In 2000, Brad and Marie Johnson reactivated Microtech Electronics Inc to full service to meet the high demands of military fleet customers.

Brad Johnson has a lifetime of experience in the practical application of electrical power systems. He is excited by products emerging in the field of energy and power. Brad knows components are available that, when combined with the appropriate products and designed as a whole to meets the specified needs of an application, result in extremely efficient and effective integrated systems.
